This is a thread I started in the Body section of the forum, someone there told me that there are some guys here that are very good with the photoshop, could someone give a hand and make a photo of the Elky with the '74 camaro front end please?

thanks,

Augusto.

I hava a '74 camaro front end and I'm having this crazy idea of implanting it on my '81 ElCamino to make a custom ElCamaro.

I have made very bad photo montages of both cars and seems to look quite nice, is someone out there good with the photoshop and would like to do a nice picture of this frankesteined thing?

has someone ever done this before?

I'm even thinking of making it a tilt fron end, it would be cool.

the shape of the fenders at about the door is quite close so there will be no mismatch noticed, also the width of both cars is very close, nothing that a hacksaw and a grinder can't solve.

please tell me your thougths.

Augusto

3rd generation fits perfectly but, first I find it not ugly but not pretty either, second I already have a '74 and would like to use it if, the result will make people go wow not laugh off, the photo-chop help will be much appreciated.

making both work toghether is a lot of work, but that's exactly why work is called "work", if it wasn't then it would be called "easy" :D

thanks.

thanks a lot, I like it, I was aware of the lines also so I figured the fender blends should be made not at the doors but halfway at the fender openings above the midlle of the tires, where both fenders have similar profiles.

You might want to measure the distance from the center of the front wheel to the door/fender line on both to make sure they match up . Every combo I've tried on photoshop doesn't match up/ the door fender works fine , but the tire is in the wrong spot in the fender . :(
It is an 80s Elco , right?

it's an '81

yes, the distance is different that's why I figured I should use only half of the fender, cut it just above the middle of the wheel well and use the forward part of it, the lines also match better there, also the hood needs to be shortened, I have the photoshop program but don't have a clue how to use it, it's like having a dog but a dead one!!.

please play with some pics for a while and post a result.

thanks

Don't have (wouldn't have) Photoshop, but using GIMP (http://gimp.org) and a couple of photos I found, I stuck the two bodies together. Perspective is wrong and I didn't blend them. Also didn't paint them. It would help to have two photos from the same angle and know what size wheels are on each vehicle in the photos so scale could be more accurate.
