Yup. Factory called for 10-30 in most climates. 5-30 wouldn't be required until something like alaskan winters, and 10-40 would be good for an older engine where the bearing tolerances might be a little loose.
There are still some oils made with the SL service rating, which means there's still ~1000ppm of ZDDP in them. This may be enough for an old stock engine with a lazy cam profile, but it might be a bit light for anything more modern.
The ones I've seen were 30w or 10w40, and were mostly house brands, not major brands. Same source oils that were either 10w30 or 5w30 seemed to all have the low-ZDDP SM rating.
I'd use some kind of SL oil, and I suspect a can of some kind of high-ZDDP racing oil or EOS added to the mix might be an idea worth looking into, especially if you're running anything that's non-factory.
