did anyone have a person come with the tool guy, to get personal info from you ?
they wanted my SS# !!! :nono: :nono: :nono:
and its wasn't for a credit card application.

Keep in mind that the "tool guy" is an independant contactor, and not an employee of Snap-on. Unless there is a loan involved, he has no need for your SS#. I know that over the last few years, there has been an increase in the number of "tool guys" that have "gone under", from poor cash flow. I wouldn't want them to have my information.

i agree with you guys. for some reason, i think it was snap-on corporate. all i gave was my name and address. as the tool guy wants that if you want to make payments. i think i am going to email snap-on.

I can see why they want it if your going to make payments. They may want to check your credit or be able to find you when you skip town with the tools. I bet that happens alot. I would think if your setting up payments at just about anywhere, you have a good chance of having to give that info.

i agree, but only if i am making a large purchase.

this is snap-ons reply :

Thank you for contacting Snap-on tools. Snap-on franchisees are
independently owned and operated. We do not keep nor have access to
their sales and or records. You would need to follow up with the dealer
regarding your concerns.

i am going to tell this to the guys who did give all their info.
