cboy When it comes to my own personal safety, I'm with you 100% Weirdbeard, as you can see in this shot of my roadster. Just saying there are gobs of factory stock as well as modified topless cars out on the road in the same boat as this little Volvo.

weirdbeard I think the new Saab is the is the safest drop top with roll bars that pop up in an accident. I think the Volvo drop top ranks 2. Hell even the cobras had that little roll bar behind the drivers head. Thats something.

Your points may be quite valid. I'm just trying to understand the reasoning that went into your conclusions.

If you feel all open top cars are death traps then your conclusion about this car is consistent with your thinking. I just couldn't see a reason for singling this car out from all the other open top cars on the road and tagging it as unsafe. But it makes perfect sense if you find them all equally unsafe.

My question wasn't to create an argument...just curious.

You would drag the frame well before you would get it rolling.

Job~Rated Volvo tried this idea back in '06 with a collaboration between Bugatti & Caresto. This was the result - the V8 Speedster...

A few more shots of the Jakob...
