What's the finished paint scheme gonna be?

Will you be doing any more body mods, i.e. chops or channels?

What do you want on the license plate?

Sorry. I'm slow to respond. I never know when I can get to the computer.
Might be a little harder in pencil? I'm probably going black, maybe with gost flames. I also saw a truck I really like done two tone. The top was silver down to the belt line (including the top of the hood), the fenders and running board were done in silver, with all the in between painted black. Real slick, but I cant find the darn picture anywhere. I'm really not sure. May let you come up with something. I like dark colors for the most part. Even thought of the new deep red metallic they use on the 06 Dodge pickups or the burnt orange metallic on some of the jeeps. Darn.....I cant decide.....

I do like this one though! http://www.hotrodders.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/33556

Body mods. Yes. I've made a solid decision to take about 2 inches out of the top. Will leave same rake to windshield. Shortening bed at least 4 inches in the rear. Rear fender will be at least 2 inches wider to accomodate larger wheels. I'm going with 16/18 American Racing Hopster. Really like them. No bumpers. The ride height in the picture with the bed on it is correct. I've put some angle to the radiator and will shorten the hood about an inch but its probably not enough to really notice. I'll probably go without the engine skirts. 9" or larger headlights. May not place side mirrors. Wipers mounted below winshield. Shaved door handles. Solid placed windshield (no crank out). I like them smooth and simple looking. To me....less is more. Will be running a polished LS1, polished headers, and at least a polished LSX aluminum intake if not a polished Magnesson blower (probably not though on the later....very expensive). I may have given way too much info. If so...sorry. :D We dont run plates on the front of vehicles in Arkansas.

I like your Mustang (GT500 Fastback) illustration Job~Rated. Your detail is increasing. Are you using markers? What type of paper?

I did this one a couple of years ago and just added a quick graphic behind it. Larry Wood (from Hot Wheels) ...at Mattel. He liked the hot rod '37 Zephyr. Although I did not get in the door at Mattel (2004) I was glad to have met Larry.
He is semi retired but works for Mattel part time and spends the rest of his time working on his own hot rods in Long Beach, CA.

Hi!

I'm using Staedtler Lumocolour & Staedtler Pigment Liner pens on 220gm paper.
The pigment liners are a new addition & a bit finer than the Lumocolours, hence the increase in detail.
I take my hat off to your work, too. I'm gonna try out some colour stuff later in the year & see what happens. I've got a bit of a list of pics to do, so let me clear the backlog first... :D

Wow, you guys are doing awesome work, all of this done freehand or using french curves and what not.

Both of my hands were severely burned in a work accident and haven't drawn much since. Grasping anything but a large molded rubber grip about the size of a throttle on a motorcycle is all I can do for any length of time. I do mss it,

I was drawing anything from 8yrs old, had a few covers for local car clubs and so on, normal stuff. I tend to sway to the Frazzetta style since that was the last I had touched.

I always had a preferance for pen and ink, fine detail styles. I can remember drawing my brothers feild and stream covers of fish jumping out of the water with all the scales and proper colors.

I never quite got painting down, it was messy and just never liked the amount of time. I flunked art class because of this, lol.

All of you guys shoul be proud of your work, I'm enjoying it.

I also play guitar & cannot imagine what it would be like to lose the use of my hands.
Considering you've damaged yours, you still manage to maintain some skill.

And besides, you won the last round!

I'm glad you like my work.

Sorry to hear about your hands. Hope that you regain full use of them again.
I don't know what I would do if that happened to me.

Thanks for the kind words guys, They will never be the same, it was severe nerve damage from chemical burns, it only gets worse. I worked with my hands in all my jobs like most of my family. I really respect it when guys like you are willing to come on and show stuff you do. I can browse the net forever looking for cool stuff, but I really enjoy this website since it works as well as it does.

I don't think I've ever seen it down or page not found, someones working to keep this thing running well.

The comp is a better way for me to play I think, just a a beginner, but I have a decent photography backgtound so I have alot of stuff to use.

A good friend is trying to teach me the pen tool but am still not getting it, I'd like to try Illustrator but have yet to get a copy, The new CS3 is good at everything IMO, but I still go back to CS2 version 8 for almost all the stuff I do now. CS3 opens very quickly compared to my CS2 since I've added so much junk to it, lol. I'd like to keep it that way, lol.

I've done online tutorials but for some reason mine will not work the same way as what I see. Stroke paths are what I'm after if anyone knows a good "EASY" tutorial somewhere.

I also thought it was beyond me. Until I took a basic classes on Photoshop and Illustrator 14 years ago. They are not easy to pick up on your own. Before that I had only used a MacIntosh Classic to make logos! Funny to look at those little Mac's now.

Before I started using a computer, all my illustrations (for work) were on drawn on Vellum and used a Rapidograph. Those things can make a mess! Always cleaning my tools (templates, pens, etc.)

As for a good bezier pen tool (for creating paths) here's the site:
Mike's Sketch Pad
Don't expect to pick it up immediately. Practice, practice, practice!!!

Thanks DVierstra, I found a full download of Basic Pen tool use. I have a good feel for photoshop and what I can expect from myself using it. There are so many differances in the way people use it.

I checked out your supplies also, I'm broke from Cameras right now but a radiograph set would be awesome, maybe christmas, lol.
