driven off blower?

Has any one ever driven an accessory off the rear of a roots type blower shaft? I was wondering if this might be a feasible option for an alternator or P.S. pump on a car with limited room on the front for driven accessories. Thanks

My initial thought is that it would be far easier to use one of the small high performance alternators and make or modify a bracket for the front of the motor.

I guess it would be possible to use the stock front cover/bearing support on the rear of the blower and make a bracket and drive adaptor. I think it would be messy (not good in the end) however. JMHO

I use a low mount alternator drive and run it off the crank pully on my car and it fits nicely in the chassis.

I think that there are cleaner ways of driving accessories than off the blower rotors. The rear of the blower will be too close to the firewall and ignition if it's a GM. The small alternators like a Geo or Suzuki are tiny and power steering pumps can use remote sumps to keep the size small. You can use low mounts to keep them away from upper motor areas.
