I picked up a junk yard radiator from an '89 Cadillac to use for breaking in a newly rebuilt sbc 350. The Cad radiator upper hose fitting is 1 1/4" and the lower is 1 1/2". The motor upper is 1 1/2" and the lower 1 3/4". If I use Chevy hoses from a place like Napa, I'm thinking I'll need a reducer for both top and bottom. If that's true, where can I find them - hardware/plumbing store - or someplace else?
A lot of radiator hoses have different sizes on either end. Go to a parts store that will let you go hose hunting and see if you can match up the hoses you need, good luck , Tom.

I guess I wasn't clear. What I was suggesting is that a short section of straight hose (about 2" long) is used as a bushing. Slide this short section of hose over the fitting on the radiator then slide the real radiator hose over this short section and put a hose clamp on the whole thing. The short straight section just acts as a spacer between the fitting on the radiator and the ID of the full hose. I've done this before and it works fine.

Goodyear sells radiator hose reducers. 58981 for 1 1/2"ID to 1 1/4 ID, 58982 for 1 3/4" ID to 1 1/2" ID, 58983 for 2"ID to 1 3/4" ID, 58984 for 2 1/4"ID to 2" ID. Just find someplace that sells Goodyear products, I'm sure they will have to order them though. Myron
