Can anyone help me with some VIN number questions?I have a 1968 RS camaro, It is orange with a bumble bee stripe across the hood, vinle top, 6 banger, 2 speed power glyde etc... but I have noticed that the VIN under the hood and the VIN on the dash is diffrent. I have had this car for many years and just now noticed this. The VIN uner the hood reads--Body by fisher 07c nST68-12437-nor174973 body paint TR 712 02. I dont know what all the other numbers are. The VIN on the dash reads 123378n473618.I have read that the vin is a perfornce camaro that came with a 302...? ***? I don't know why they are diifrent. Does anyone know what all the numbers mean? I will try to get pictures of the VINS if it would help.

I have found out that this car was built the 3rd week in july of 1968 and was a V8 coupe!,black standard buckets, corvette bronze. This is what it looks like.
The tag on the cowl is the Fisher Body tag and was installed by Fisher Body on the shell before the VIN was assigned to the car. It will not match the VIN (unless you have an incredible coincidence).
