next fiberglass question
OK. I'm in the process of shaping my urethane foam mold for my console. I plan on using fleece for the base. What is the best way to attach the fleece? Obviously a cant staple it. Is there a certain type of glue I can use that the resin wont melt?

I use 3M Trim Adhesive. The resin doesn't seem to effect it.
|
I like using a hot melt glue gun for just about all of my foam work.

I second the hot glue gun.
Unless you need to span any empty spaces where you haven't got any foam, I would just go straight to the fiberglass. IMHO, fleece's only use is to stretch across between edges, it's not as strong as matte and resin. I like to use the thinnest, stretchiest, cheapest material I can find at the 'Mart. Doesn't eat up as much resin and doesn't add the bulk like fleece does. Post some pics, it sounds cool. |
