NHRA Stock Car Classification, reliability?

How realiable is the NHRA Stock Car Classification for trying to find out the weight of different cars?

http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/classification/

I would appreciate if you could "test" the values with your the actual weight of your own cars.

Don't own any of the cars.

The weights published are MINIMUM weights for each vehicle.

I used to be a Tech man for a large drag strip. Many true stock vehicles are going to be as much as 300-600 lbs heavier. Depending on the options included.
The "stock" racers tend to have to have weight added to make class.

Ok, but if i put it like this:

If i want to compare different cars weight, and i imagine them all without options (throw out the radio, ac, powersteering etc.) is the weights pretty much right then?
