Nitrous Bottle Valves
 

Are all 10 lb nitrous bottle valve fittings universal? I'm looking to pick up a used spare bottle and I am curious if the threaded connections are standard from manufacturer to manufacture.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The bottle nut threads are the same . The valves can be different . Some are standaed , some high flow .

Be careful buying a used bottle. The tank might be expired and need to be recertified. Most N2O stations wont fill an expired bottle. The date is stamped near the valve. More than 5 years and you need to recert. Cost about 50-100, but it takes time. Im impatient! :D

Also, you need to disassemble the bottle and check the siphon tube alignment and ensure that it matches your setup/alignment. You can change this. Next you want to check what kind of valve is on the bottle. Look at the burst disc/safety valve as well. Wont do you much good if you have a high flow system with a standard valve. Super Flo valves are pricey and generally you can buy a bottle with a blanket and super flo valve filled for around 350. That's a deal when you compare parting a used bottle and superflo valve.
Last, if it comes with an adapter you scored! If not just transfer the adapter when changing bottles.

Yes, the bottle is out of date however, I have a friend who does hydrostatic testing for a local fire suppression company. He tested my first bottle. I'm going to play it safe and replace the valve & tube with the matching manufactures valve & gauge. Also, it did come with an adapter.
