My car is a M6 and I use a MSD Window switch like This I have mine pilled at 3200 on and 6600 off with my rev limiter set at 6700. Just set it so it cuts the spray off before the rev limiter kicks in and you should be good to go.

I just went for a ride in a Ford Ranger with a 351 with a stick that runs nitrous. He is running a MSD Window switch and a MSD Retard box to control the nitrous. He also runs a MSD 6AL box with the rev limiter. If you engine revs that quickly I STRONGLY SUGGEST some sort of override for the nitrous.Window switches work very nice. One mistake and it could be over for your engine.

IMO a button is a bad idea, especially with a shot of any size, say 100 or more. The better you control the nitrous coming on the less chance of pushing a rod through the block at low rpm from the added torque. The motor needs to be spooled up some (IMO at least 3K rpm) to avoid that. Just my .02 worth,, |

This engine fit in the Ranger like it was made for it. I have an S-10 with a SBC in it, and the Ranger 351 fits sooooooooo much better. The next time my buddy Scott drives it up to the shop I will take a few pic for you. The Ranger is a 1988. Steve ![]() |

Hey thanks! My bronco II is an 88' too!
I'm thinking that the heater box is probably gone to make room for the valve covers, Header/frame clearance is an issue, slave cylinder/header clearance, new trans, t case, driveshafts, axels to handle the new power...........This sounds a lil to expensive for me! Maybe if I won the lottery.. ![]() |

I've heard of people hooking a nitrous safety switch up to their clutch pedal, just like a cruise control cut off...so when you push in the clutch, the nitrous cuts off, and will kick back on when the pedal hits the stop.
In fact, the guy I heard about used a brake light switch to do it, and he even used the mounting point for the cruise switch (his car had no cruise) to mount it up...he said works great. I believe that he said something about an RPM setup on it too, where he could dial in what RPM it would kick in at, but that's really all I know about it because at the time I had no real interest in putting a NOS setup on my car (nor the money...) My suggestion is to run a WOT switch in series with a window switch.
If somthing ever breaks in the drivetrain and your at WOT on the gas its going to rev to the moon before you can get off of it. Been there done that...its not fun to run over the crank or have a custom windowed block. :-) |
