hey guys i just replaced my ignition coil, rotor and spark plugs in my 78 chevy k10 truck,i have fairly new spark plug wires but there is no spark to the plugs im sure this problem is something simple but i just cant troubleshoot it!need help guys im lost!!
If that's all you've done, check the hookup to the coil. The "-" terminal goes to the distributor and the "+' to the resistor if used and to the ignition switch wiring. Good Luck.
yeah i have a HEI coil in cap, another thing i ment to add is there is a thing on the firewall that looks like some sort of ground with 3 wires attached one goes to the alternater one to the starter and theres one wire that is cut and i dont know where this wire goes heres a pic of the THING on the firewall!!
yeah ill go get a tester and try testing it tommorow ive got a couple of modules so ill try those to!another thing id like to ask is could the ignition switch have anything to do with this?the engine cranks over fine just no fire!
Depending on what kind of ignition you have, you may want to check and see if your points have slipped -- causes a lot of back firing/stalling/misfiring/no spark at the plugs
