No front fender wells

Has anyone run without their front fender wells? Not on a track only car, but on the street, in the rain. How dirty did your engine get when doing this?

Seventy Nova. Back in the day,,Used to drive on street run it in B/Gas on the weekends. Water/dirt gets into everything and will drown out the ignition. Steam from headers causes problems when stopped at traffic lights etc.

ALMOST as bad as my "T" bucket is now.. Cept now the interior gets drowned also. Can't see thru the windshield with water splashing on both the inside and outside. From the tires.

Might be ok on a track car but Bob nailed it as we get the rain in Wa and running with no fender wells is not a good thing..If cooling is a issue then making a vent in the fender well can be done..sort of a louver kind of deal to let out hot air..

As said....... back in the day had a friend that ran a dual quad 301 '55 chevy with no front bumper or fenderwells........but it did have fenderwell headers. We all thought it looked tough cuzz it looked like a gasser and the engine compartment was always clean. It was always clean because he CLEANED it EVERY DAY!! He never drove it in wet weather if he could help it.

I tried running my `47 Coupe without inner fenderwells, but like everyone else said the engine gets drowned all the time and everything gets real dirty. I have since built new inner panels and solved a world of problems. the engine runs cooler, too?????
Good Luck!
