I'm not sure what sort of use this would have on a car.

You'd have to have it down all the time to avoid red light cameras.

If police catch you speeding, they're going to chase you down whether or not they can read your plate. If you flip it down, then unless you're in a sea of cars identical to yours, its not going to help much - unless you think you can outrun them.

If you've committed a crime and they're looking for your car, then flipping the plate down isn't going to do anything but cause more suspicion.

Maybe on a bike, where you could potentially outrun the police when speeding, it might be useful. However, if you would buy this device just for that situation, please send me your name and address so I can take out a life insurance policy on you.

Oh man thats friggin awesome! I could beat the red light cameras and also eliminate the possibility of someone getting my plate number while doing one of many illegal things I do at night. Oh and I can blow through the E-Z Pass lane.

Christmas list item #2.

Lol, my old white caprice had a flip down that would stay down. When out getting into trouble I always had that thing down. if a cop pulled me over: "sorry officer I filled the tank and forgot to flip it back up"

Kinda hard to lose a white El Camino in traffic... really sticks out. I have never been in a pack of more than 3 at any one time (I'll include the Ranchero cuz they are the same idea).

How can you use it to get out of speeding tickets when even the web site says it's illegal for public road use?
