No oil pressure, revisited

Ok, I found the problem with the oil pressure. I pulled the front of the motor off and the three small holes behind the cam gear are unplugged.

My question is this, do they all get plugged or just two, or ????

Thanks for any assistance.

Bob

Thanks.

Ok, I plugged all the holes, spun the oil pump again and got 30 lbs on the gauge. I got oil up to the rockers on the whole left bank but didn't get any oil up on the right bank.

Whats up with that. Could it be that the drill just didn't spin it fast enough?? Any ideas. Thanks.

Bob

If you are spinning the pump without a distrib housing in the block you will have very little oil to one side as the dist body acts as a plug to a large oil leak..

Very true, Some pre-oilers are just a shaft while others will have a plug that the shaft goes through that will extend deep enough to seal the galleys and allow oil flow to all parts of the engine.
