No-radiator Bonneville run question
Former C-Class record holder (naturally aspirated) producing approx. 500 HP being converted to maximum effort turbo (900 - 1000 crank HP). Engine compartment ventilation, and space, is very minimal. Because of a nearly impossible space situation due to introduction of turbo, intercooler and intercooler ice tank, team is interested in ditching the radiator in favor of several custom fitted series connected coolant tanks. Have any Bonneville veterans out there ever seen such an arrangement? Is it feasable or are we headed for a melt-down? If I were a great engineer I would try to figure the coolant capacity required, but I'm not one. Would appreciate any comments re capacity (engine is SBC, iron Dart block, Dart alum. heads and the best water pump we can find). The idea is to crank up and run. Prior tuning would be done on a chassis dyno with a rigged radiator and fan. Thanks!
