No Rotisserie!
Hey Guys (and Gals!), I started a new thread for this question hoping to get some creative ideas! I am going to media blast the under carriage of my '65 Coupe (Mustang) then cover with SPI bed liner. I do not have an auto rotisserie, don't have access to one and don't want to buy one if I can get away with not having one! Any other options?

An engine puller can be used to get the body up in the air to do this work, but all 4 wheels must remain on the car. You can only do half at a time. Be sure to chock up the body really good and be safe.

scrounging time
I found some plans on the net, talked a buddy out of some free steel tubing someone gave him. and paid $ 50 for heavy castors and bolts. but I have enough space to store the stuff in racks along side the barn, guys bring me stuff, and sometimes show up saying I need a piece of ,,, I say go look in the racks.
And we have some obsolete farm machinery that I have plans for using some of the pieces.

I have used a blaster on the underside of my 78 Trans Am recently. I raised the car as high as possible on jack stands and duct taped tarps all along the rockers, bottom firewall, etc. In a few days I stripped the entire underside of my car.
If you don't mind laying on your back and getting a sore neck you can certainly do it.

This is what I built to put the chevelle on it's side. Total cost $40.00 and about an hour to cut and weld.

The body was sitting up on wood blocks. I bolted the arms on and my wife and I lifted the body on it's side. Rotated it back down the same way. No my wife is not OLGA it was fairly easy.

I have also seen someone who put wheels on the bottom of the arms so they could roll the body around in the garage on it's side.

proctor wall jacks
I have a set of Proctor wall jacks, used in construction to lift framed wall panels safely by myself. You can build an non adjustable one with some pipe and a come-a-long. Number one rule NEVER be in a position if somethings slips moves etc where you can get hurt, Up here on the farm we have a backhoe and forklift , at the shop where we spend the winter I have a roll around gantry crane, and rotiserrie, I built the pair for less that $100 out of pocket used recycled steel.

All I know is TAKE THIS STUFF SERIOUSLY! Make sure the legs on the base are VERY long and when messing with something like this that you don't put yourself in harms way while moving it into position.
I have twice in my life made VERY stupid mistakes that almost ended up with a car on me. The last one left me shaking for quite a while, DON'T think you have it all together when dealing with this sort of thing and don't feel you don't need to ask others opinions, call over your neighbor, your wife, someone to go over what you have planned.
