Went to the BMV Friday morning and applied for new VIN. After I surrendered $11.50 to the sweet lady she told me it would six weeks to get the numbers in the mail . Then I have to affix a new tag with the new numbers to the car and call for another police VIN check $5. After that back to the BMV with my documents and apply for a new title in my name $15. Pay my sales tax 6% and presto when the new title comes two weeks later I'm legal! Oh yeah don't think I pay registration fee of $20.75 until it gets plated. Government red tape is priceless.

It's not done yet but we are working on it. If I can stay away from the BMV long enough maybe I can get something done.

I have in my possession a brand new Indiana title for my 41 chevy. It took about 4 weeks after the Indiana State Trooper verified my VIN tag. All in all a memorable experience I'll never forget form (yes it's spelled form after form after form) beginning to end. Thank you State Government. I couldn't have done it without you! Time to move forward and start working on the car!
