i had a knocking noise on my 350sb under the intake, and what it appeared to be was a lifter had failed after about 80k miles on it, but yours are new so you might have your valves adjusted incorrectly.....just a thought, good luck..

I had a similar 'knock' on a small block once and it turned out to be the fuel pump. You might want to check the pump and the drive rod to see if there is excessive wear.

hi MATE,do yo get the knockin when you rev up?
or just when tickin over?
I had a tickin/knockin on a Chevy Caprice,at tick over,when i revved the engine the tickin went.
turned out to be a hydraulic lifter had a bit of crap in it!motor still ran strong tho.

If it has forged pistons then it may just be the reg knock or rattle sound of a little slop in the bore`s... If its cast pistons the its possible you have knocked a skirt off one of them...? There is a lot of difference between a knock and a tap...

Also if its forged pistons when its cold it will be worse but as temps come up it should become somewhat less...
