Noisy Rearend

Ok I took my camaro for a quick ride down my road the other day and the rearend seemed to make a lot of noise. kinda like a humming sort of. I Dont know a whole lot when it comes to rearends so can someone help me. What could be wrong. My camaro is a 91 RS v8 with a 5 speed tranny, not sure if that matters but?
thanks in advance.

Did the humming just start? How many miles are on it? Is the noise constant or just on acceleration or de-acceleration. Any other noises?

I had some noise coming from mine a few weeks ago, and it turned out the pinion nut started coming loose.

It seems like a constant hum. I've only had the car for a month or so and this was the first time I really took it for a ride down the road.

pinion

A constant hum sounds like a pinion bearing, but a complete tear down and inspection will tell the hole story
