Non Starter

Folks,

I have recently joined the forum. I posted a thread on the Hot Rodder basics forum earlier (which if you have the time you can reveiw so that I do not need to type the scenario twice). The bottom line is that I am in need of some specifis as to where the Neutral Safety and Clutch Overide swithces are on my 1969 Stingray.

Does anyone have a good Internet source of specs and diagrams so that I do not have to bother the group with questions that are available online? I did a breif search last night but did not find a source for information that was easily available.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,

Johnny

There is NO neutral start switch on a clutch equipped manual transmission Corvette. The Clutch engagement switch just deactivates the starting circuit wire to the starter. It has nothing to do with the rest of the ignition.

The wire to the coil should still be HOT when the switch is switched to start ... even with the clutch engagement switch is not depressed. The clutch engagement switch is a small lever type switch ... activated with a small rod coming from the clutch pedal lever.

The one shown is a Camaro/Nova one for a 69 ... but the Vette one is basically the same .

Up and Running

Duece,

Thanks for the reply. As it turns out it was the clutch safety switch. I just by passed it for now until I have some time to replace it.

Thanks again

Johnny

Did you find those wiring schematics that I left for you at the end of the other thread?
