noob question intake cam shaft kit

I'm willing to buy a intake manifold , a carburator and a cam and lifter kit from edelbrock for my tired buick 231 engine

when changing the camshaft and lifters should be changed something else too?

I always replace the cam bearings also, especially if the engine is "tired" as you stated. Cheap insurance.
