Cool NOT Assembling a 327/completely

I have had this 1969 327sbc setting around the garage for years. Picked up a steel crank and balanced rods and RV cam. Finally asembled it. Went to Pre-oil the engine and found out I had left OFF the oil pump extention. Lucky for me I was able to rig the extention to the pre-oiler and drop it in from the top. Anyone else ever forget to put parts on their engines and find out after they were through assembling he engine?

A buddy of mine once re-biult his vette engine(His first engine) and when it started and ran great he wanted to take it down the road. Stuck the shifter in reverse, or tried to, He looked everywhere for the problem. Only to have our friend point out that the Throwout Bearing was sitting on the workbench! We made fun at him for months!

I once left the Oil pump off untill I'd installed the motor and only then, did I find the pump laying in my tool box!

That's how you really get to know the motor! Hypothetically speaking of course. <img src="graemlins/evil.gif" border="0" alt="[evil]" />
