not enough turn? HELP!!!!

I have a dodge omni rack for steering a 34 ford coupe frame. I have the steering arms from Speedway that bolt onto chevy style spindles. I used the holes that were in the arms to mount the ends of the rack to,but it doesnt appear to turn enough. I measured on my dodge truck from the frame to the inside of the front tire and got 15 inches (while straight)then turned all the way and got 23 inches. This being about 8 more inches of travel (from being straight)i figured was almost 33% more movement from the frame. on the coupe it was just under 25%.
Would it be ok to leave alone(not my best choice) or should i shorten the steering arms to get more turn?or drill new holes closer to the pivoting point?
(shortening or moving the holes means the rack ends will hit the brakes hoses on the calipers so the arms will have to be bent downwards also)

Is this a rack mounted on a straight axle?

my signature lines...not really directed at anyone in particular..

BE different....ACT normal.

No one is completely useless..They can always be used as a bad example
