You didn't give much info but I would check the kickdown adjustment for the shift and the modulator for a leak (pull the hose off the unit and if there's tranny fluid in it,it's bad). The reason it may be chirping in reverse is the weight transfer off the rear to the front. By the way, Damn, that's a steep gear for any kind of street use.

I would think that you would have problems knowing when it shifts with that gear. It may be shifting so quick you don't know it. You may not realize how hard on the gas you are also. The lack of kick when you step on it may be due to being out of the power range. That is going to be really costly on the road.

well, the timing is most likely way off... I redid the distributor and this is the first time I ever read about it... so my experience is very limited. No backfire, but a little bit dark exhaust. I don't know if this can impact he response. Also, tri-power setup isn't properly tuned yet either. I'm guessing both have some sort of impact, right? Gears will be dropping down to 3.80 this summer and the AOD goes in this winter. |
