dude, that was an eco car. it's powered by hydrogen, it's combustion process causes an abundance of water, or rather steam, and it has to go somewhere. you wouldn't be able to run it for long if the motor just accumulated all that water in it......you'd rust up your spark plug. you know they only have one spark plug right?

Yeah, I have been looking all over the web for one of those cool things that erases memory that they used in Men in Black.

Now, I woudn't spend an hour of my valuable life watching a cartoon like Fast "N" Furious or the Power Rangers or some thing but I believe it may be an inner cooler (or after cooler, I don't know on this particular application) with a water injector spraying water mist on it to further cool the air going thought it. It has been used in War Bird racers for years and now you will see it in the Subaru WXR. THAT makes a car go faster, and I assume that the Fast "N" Furious plot is about cars going faster, not being eco friendly.

Are you talking about the NOS purge?

I am pretty sure the steam came from one of NXS's nuclear powered anti gravity devices (with a custom anti grav NOS kit for sure). The steam drives the turbine and it has to go somewhere otherwise it would accumulate and rust up the turbine. So, obviously with the steam from the hydrogen combustion and the turbine together, that's a lot of steam to get rid of.

Crazy Larry's right about the eco drive. If you were to open the hood on that car and look just to the left of the spark plug (theres no spark plug lead because the spark is actually digitally transferred to the plug by a bluetooth wireless connection from the drivers Apple ipod), you would find the anti grav unit. It's very small though and goes invisible when not running (anti theft feature), but anyway... that's where the steam came from.

Hope this helps!

Rich

This might belong in the general rodding section.

Rich, thanks for bringing me back to earth here. I bit, I admit, I bit, I thought this was a real post, I just noticed it is his first post. Obviously a joke.

This may sound like a poor attempt to be witty but I am serious. On the subject of the whole eco power thing, it is friggin amazing how far we have come. My daily driver is a '95 Ford Taurus SHO with a 3.1 Yamaha V6 (yes it is made by Yamaha). It has four doors, automatic A/C, cd, moon roof, leather interior, keyless entry, etc. It gets about 20 MPG average with about 26 on the highway. Now, it runs 14.90's @ 95 MPH. My '65 Gran Sport with no comfort options what so ever, gets about 16 MPG if I am lucky, a 401 CI motor in street trim runs 14.50's @ 98 MPH (13:88 @ 99.99 with slicks). In a street race, it would be pretty hard to tell which is faster. The SHO gives me a similar feeling at that "good point" in the power band, it smokes the tires for goodness sakes!

I have driven many performance cars, Vipers, Cad CTS-V, Vettes, etc. The one that blew me away, was a Subaru WXR. It had some aftermarket speed equipment but still.....it was wild. I wasn't even trying, I was just pulling off, like any car, winding it up to 2500 RPM or so to shift into 2nd. Right at about 2600 RPM the friggin thing came unglued! The turbo kicked in and darn near pulled the steering wheel out of my hands. It literally scared me, I wasn't ready for that! I let off, shifted and pulled it up to 2500 or so again to hit 3rd. Again, BAM I thought I was ready, it just about almost pulled the wheel from my hands it wiped so violently. When I got on the free way it felt every bit as healthy as that Viper, I wish I could have opened it up all the way.

No, these "eco boxes" can RUN.

Brian
