'nother question
I got a friend with a 86 or so chevy suburban with a 350 and TH350. We recently put in a new transmission and all and now when it's in two wheel drive mainly, there is a loud tapping noise from somewhere infront of the transmission. Thought it might have been something in the front differential but my buddy took it to a shop in town and the guy said the flywheel was cracked/warped and hitting the starter. Anyone ever heard of this? also will any Th350 flywheel work cause I have one that was on a th350 in a nova.
Thanks |

That happens for sure. If your mechanic is reputable, he is probably right. Also if he is right. you should be able to pull the starter and see where the flywheel is hitting. TH 350 flex plates are pretty universal on the tranny end. Just be sure the crank hub is compatible. Again your mechanic friend or your auto parts guy (if he isn't just a Auto Zone slack-jawed mouth breather - you should have a good parts man on your team if you don't already) should be able to point you to a part #.
