Spring is the same size, but the rate might be different.

The Mono spring perch on the axle housing is not deep enough for the multi leaf spring but can be made to work, you will need longer U-bolts and may want to fab up some spacer sleeves to fit around a short section of the U-bolt inside the perch area, to keep from bending the bottom retainer plate and the U-bolts coming loose. Be a good time to add a GOOD traction bar like CalTracs or Competition Engineering slapper bars, they both have a real solid lower spring plate.

You could also remove the mono perches on the housing and replace with multi perches, this will require cutting and welding, Check with resto suppliers or Moser or Randy's Ring and Pinion to get them.

What rear axle do you have in the '68?? 10-bolt?(8.2" or 8.5"), 12-bolt??
