Flying High

Here is one for the fly boy's out there. Real girl and ride in the Toon form. One of the of my favorite forms of art from WWII was nose art on the bombers. I had the privilege to eat breakfast with Veterans and here there stories today, what a honor. Signed Vagabond Road Artist Lincoln Highway Johnny

1919 army convoy

My favorite road the Lincoln Highway is 100 years old this year. In 1913 there was no continues road from east to west across the nation. What was used at the best, good roads in the east, mud horse roads in the Midwest and west of the Missouri river there was very few roads. Enters the thought of a continues hard rock surface road, the Lincoln Highway. The government got involved by 1919. They called it the Good Road Movement. A Transcontinental Army Convoy was formed . The convoy went from Washington D.c. to San Francisco fixing roads and building wooden bridges. One the the young officers in the convoy was Lt. Col. Dwight D Eisenhower. Latter to become the President of the United States. Remember the slogan I Like IKE......Signed Vagabond Road Artist Lincoln Highway Johnny
