Now it wont start

Hello All,
I have a 72 Chevelle with a 350 bored .80 over with a moderate cam, long tube headers, 750 carb, edelbrock street dominator intake manifold. I had it timed at 28 degrees advanced, ran good, started right up with no problems. Then I was reading that it was timed too advanced, so I brought it down to 18, would not start. I got it started by the grace of god, brought it back up to 24 degrees, now i wont start at all and back fired. With all the mods listed, what should it be timed at? Any info would help.

Thanks,
Mike

It should be timed at how in the living hell did you bore a 350 .080 over!?

What cam? Specs on it please. "moderate" doesnt mean anything.
Need compression ratio too. And ignition system.
