NP203 speedometer gear problem

i have recently rebuilt the motor and transmission is recently rebuilt also. The problem here is that the speedometer does not work. I have replaced the gear and key also i hooked a drill up to the cable and spun it and the gauge worked so i know its in the trasfer case.. Im not sure if there is a gear that is not messing in the transfer case? Also if i need to replace this gear can i get to it by unbolting the rear output part or do i need to take the whole transfer case apart?

Any info would be awsome..im at a lost!!

thanks,

Mike Miller

All you need to do to get to the drive gear is to remove the one or both aluminum housings for the rear output. Be careful, the shaft & other parts could fall out. There should be a colored gear on the shaft.

Due to forum rules I cannot post a link with further information.

Slides off. Don't remember whether it is retained by a snap ring or not.
