turbo 400 to 205

with all the 400 floating around out there you have to check output shaft diameter and spline count because there are different output shafts used on the 400 and different input shafts used on the transfer case

repost to 400/np205-700r4

Guy just called me and the np205 is connected to a 700R4 not a 400. So it would be comeing off the 700r4 and going on the gm th400.

the t-400 output shaft will not fit the t-case for the 700r4 trans.

GM built 3 different length outputs for a 4x4 application of the t-400.

ALL of them are the same diameter size and 32 spline count.

there are shafts for the :

203 t-case

208 & late 205 t-case

early 205 t-case.. this output shaft is the SAME as the short shaft commonly used in 2 WD applications

At one time Advance Adapters sold an output shaft for the t-400 that was machined with 27 splines like the t-700 has. I do not know IF this shaft is still available or NOT.

I have seen many of these machined down t-400 output shafts broken.
