nv1500 350 applications

I have a nv1500 out of a 1999 chevy s10 that I want to put in my gmc k1500 with a older changed over 350. I didn't know what the ratings were for the nv1500 as to whether it would bolt up or not and whether it would hold up to the torque. The tranny was off a 2.2 and the 350 is out of a 80's model chevy

You do realize a trans for a 2.2L 4cyl is not really rated for a V8 duty cycle. A used 4cyl trans behind a V8, assuming you have the right length input etc to install it, is probably short lived

If your choices are TH400 or NV1500 behind a 350, there's no question of which is the better choice (where "better" is defined as: transmission will survive past the end of the driveway). If you want a manual trans, get at least an NV3500.

The little NV 1500 has been broken by idiots romping the little 4cyls. It will never hold a V8. V8 K1500's usually came with the NV-3500 which is very close in design, but it is much stronger and even the NV 3500 is a bit weak for a 350

Turbo 400 is good to quite a bit of HP in stock form
