OEM interior color matching

Does anyone know a source for interior leather, vinyls, etc. that match OEM colors? I have a set of 2006 cashmere (color) Corvette seats that I want to use and I'd like to use the same color for the door panels, etc.
Thanks
Lee

SEM has a line of dyes and coatings for interiors..tho on this if you are redoing the door panels there are a lot of materials available and you can get a good match if you do a bit of shopping..perhaps one of the interior guys can weich in on this one tho I do know there are materials that thye use when they have to do a repair on an OEM interior..

I did find this link http://www.gulffabrics.com/auto.htm they might be able to help you..

OEM color matching

I'm familiar with interior dyes and paints but for this project I'm going with all new materials.

I was talking with a friend in the fashion industry who indicated that colors in their industry are standardized and coded by number such that a manufacturer in Italy, for example, can make a handbag of a particular color that will match (within dye lot variations) a pair shoes manufactured by company in California.

I'm sure there is a similar system in the automotive industry as the OEM's purchase thousands of square yards of interior coverings (leather, vinyl, carpet, plastics, etc.) from various manufacturers scattered around the globe which need to match reasonably well when assembled together in a single automobile.

Any GM or Ford retirees or OEM suppliers out there?

Lee

ANY Automotive trim shop. One that does a lot of used car seats and dealer repairs. Has books/sources full of the OEM matching samples. I have about a two dozen old ones from Detroit Body Products. Mostly from the sixties and seventies, when I was in the business.

Like Bob said,Detroit Body Products has OEM vinyls from the year you are looking for. They are in Wixom Michigan. Make sure you tell them it is the Vette vinyl as there are many different grain patterns for the same colors now.
