I have posted about this subject before (thanks Doc for your quick replies and PMs). Basically it is about an Original Equipment Reproduction tach for my 69 Camaro that was pegging to the right as soon as ignition was turned on. I finally got it down to MSD for them to check it out (I am running their HEI under-cap coil and module). The tach worked ONCE with one of their "filters" for about 5-10 minutes and that was it. They called the other day and they feel the tach is bad because as soon as they put 12 volts to it, it pegs out to the right. I am done messing with this thing and am buying a Autometer tach (they don't require filters to work with MSD stuff). How hard is it to remove the tach needle? Is a special tool necessary? I plan on mounting the Autometer guts to my tach face. If I can't do that, I will take Doc up on his offer to show me how to switch the circuit board on the tachs. Thanks in advance.
