Well, as I've mentioned in the past I completely hate ALL the aftermarket vent options for the air conditioning units today. I searched for hours and talked to many people and finally decided on looking at ashtrays. I found that a 53 or so Packard or a 48 or so Cadillac had an ashtray on the back of the front seat that I really like so I bought a rough one on ebay to see if I liked it. I'm going to gut part of it and add directional levers so that the roll top can be opened and closed. I haven't decided yet on whether to cut out the cigarette lighter part or to leave that there as well.
I personally really like the way it looks so far, or at least the potential of it. I'm not sure how I'm going to make directional vents, but I'm sure I'll come up with something...I hope. Brandon |

nice
i have been meaning to go back through your journal to get another look at the stock heater |

I can't promise that's a stock heater for a '37, it's just the one that was in it. I don't really know much about them, but I did take a picture of it.

I thought the dash didn't look low enough on my car, so I added a panel under mine. I did it twice and still wish I had made it wider still. I have pics in my journal. i know what you mean about the AC vents. I was going to have mine behind the dash and blow down and out the windshield vents, but maybe that wouldn't cool enough.

when I get to that point, I was thinking I would try using a left over 454 connecting rod (for now) for the column drop I plan on having a pretty sparse interior at first then later down the road when I redo it all I am sure I will have changed my mind a number of times on how I want it

Hey Cisco, is that a tach where the radio used to be??

My seats are 13" high from the floor. For me, 5'10", I can see most of the front end and my eyes are about centered looking out the windshield. The column is mounted pretty much like stock.
I picked up a radio head for $10 on Ebay , was listed as Ford even tho there is a bow tie on it,, you win some. The dial was good, but the shafts were rusted, I fixed the dial shaft, the volume is just a dummy shaft I rigged in it. That is what is where the radio was, it is a radio. Tach, speedo, gas are in the top panel, 3 other gauges and a clock are in the bottom panel. I put an AC vent where the ash tray plate was. I never touched the car last year and this year I'm living in China,,,, love Chinese women. |

Oh Ok. I was trying to read the numbering on it and thought maybe it was a tach. I had been thinking about trying to find a tach like that and put it there so I was hoping that was the case.
Wow, you're a long way. How long until you're home with the '37? Brandon |

I think Dolphin gauges has small tach, I used Dolphin gauges.
If it wasn't that I miss my dog and cats and my house is paid for.. I could live here, planning on staying 5 months, I'm in south China, will see Hong Kong soon and planning to see Viet Nam, Laos and Thailand. The women here are amazing , often I can't count the number of gorgeous women I see at once and they mostly dress sexy, can't remember the last time i saw a woman in a dress at home , let alone a mini skirt and 6'' heels ( average outfit here) |

OK, I've got a question for those that have been there.
I just sat my radiator/grille shell shroud/shield up on the core support and the core support is way to low and making the sides where the headlights mount hit the tophats on the top spring mounts. This is with a chassis engineering IFS kit. Has anyone else had this problem? Brandon |

Grill shell
Brandon, I had the same problem. You need to trim the area out at the upper control arm area. I measured up aprox. 5 1/2" and back aprox. 10". That should do it. Jack

Do you mean take metal out of the top hat the springs sit in or remove metal from the grille shell?
Thanks, Brandon |

grill shell
Brandon, Remove the materal from the grill shell. The area that looks like part of the inner fender. My e-mail is lakewood46@cox.net if you send me your address I will attach a picture of my grill shell. It is not on the car so I can get a good picture. I would post it on the forum but don't know how. Jack

Brandon, I will take some pictures later on to give you a view of what and how much you need to cut from the doghouse and inner fender panels.
