thought I would create a spot for all the 37 & 38 (+or-) chevy (and other GM products) cars/trucks owners (and former/future owners)
to get together and share info, ask questions, post pics, etc.
I know off and on there are is lot of these cars and info on here
I have done some searches here and dont remember seeing anything like this, for these cars
(if there is and I missed it, maybe one of the mods. can drag it out and merge the threads)
Hi, I am presently building a 37 Chevy 4 door rod. Stock body, Chassis Engineering full suspention with mustang 2 front end. 350 crate motor and 700r4 trans. Need some advise on the best way to fabricate the seat riser for bucket seats as the floor is lower on the outside than on the center of the car. Any ideas from past experience. Also looking for wind ****************************** Thanks

Thanks for the reply and movingthe question to a better forum. As for how much the floor drops off i havn't checked it yet. I will need to fabricat some type of stand for the outside mount. I don't think it should be bore thtn about 2 inches. I han't found a supplier that has anything for this problem.

I didnt think that it dropped too much, thats why I asked
you could just use a small spacer under the outside mounts
would still like to have some pics of the car
good luck
I will have to check what the drop is. I have pictures of the car befor I started and the progress up till now. Will post it as I get time. Right now I am thrshing to get it ready to send it out for paint. I am working on adding an extion to the lower part of the dash for the AC grills and controls. Fill existing holes and cutting in the radio and such. Thanks
here is a few of working on it I installed a floor from a sedan its the same as a convertable or rumble seat car with a added part on the back for the trunk I had to remove
I did check the floor drop for the seats and you were right the floor only drops about 1/2". I will be able to make some type of spacer. Thansk for the come back

buckets are easy, bench is harder because of the narrow width
just about any buckets out of a 2 door car (so they will tilt, for back seat access)
I would recommend just hit the wrecking yard and get the ones that fit your butt the best
or were you looking for something new/store bought?

Looking for used Not new, I have been hitting my local scrapper but haven't had much luck. Seems like everything is a four door these days! If I knew of a specific model to look for it might be easier to call around more places.
