Question oil in a 350

Yeah ok,

Im a college student and just got a new (to me) truck. Its an 88 chevy 3/4 ton w/ a 350 engine. Its an old ranch truck so the are "people prints" all over it if you know what i mean...Well anyway I have no clue about chevy 350's, all my dad and i have ever run are varying sizes of fords. SO here's my Question...How much oil does an '88 chevy 350 take ive heard from 4 qts to 8 qts. So if there is anychevy guy out there that wants to help an car ignorant fellow man out thx a million.
