if you have .003 on the rear main you are ok, if you have .003 on the others you can run the crank but use a high volume oil pump.if the crank is std you can get .001 under bearings, the only other alternative is to have the crank turned to the next undersize and tell them you want it in the middle of the specs.

Here is what they are. Rear, 2.447. The rest, 2.446. Grind my new crank, Great. They know the freight kills me, or maybe they figure no one checks them. How mickey mouse is buying the 4 .001 bearings? I am running a HV oil pump. The rod throws are OK, they guage at .003. They miked at 2.098.

The -.001 bearings are not Mickey Mouse at all, many engine builders use them to get the oil clearance "right on". What brand of crank are you using? You didn't say what engine you have, but I am assuming that it is a 350" Chevrolet, based on the specs you posted. Anyway, if we are talking about a 350 Chevrolet, then your crank is somewhat out of specs. The journal sizes should be 2.4478"-2.4488" for the thrust bearing and 2.4483"-2.4493 for the other four. You will probably not find anyone who stocks only the plain shells in -.001 size. Will probably need to get the whole set in -.001.

EDIT: Even though .003" seems like a lot of clearance (and it is), you are actually within specs. The recommended oil clearance for 350" Chev. is .0011"-.0041" for the thrust and .0006"-.0036 for the others. I agree with Bob, if you go with the .003" clearance, then a high volume oil pump should be used.

0.003" is fine. Put it together and don't worry about it.

BTW I consider 0.0025 perfect, your close enough.
