i had to replace my oil filter bypass for the bypass plugged up and spun the bearings by what the machine shop said. i finally found the oil filter bypass but was wondering if there is a gasket that goes between the bypass and the block i didn't pull the new one out or the old one. so i don't know if there is a gasket or not. any info would be greatly appreciated.
it was fiber filter in the bypass by what the machine shop said. so no need for a gasket then. also machine shop said that this is one in 1000 chance for that to actually happened but it did.
That builder told you wrong. He must have meant the filter or something. I've always plugged mine and ever racer I know has plugged thiers. Either you may have misunderstood or he told you wrong.
Yea, he told you wrong or you misunderstod him,, All a plugged bypass would do is run all the oil throught the filter... That is a good thing!!! Like the others i plug all my by-passes so the oil has to go throught the filter...
BTW what engine is this????
There is another reason it ate the bearings...
