Oil leak

My new Year One 350 400 hp Vortec got started and had a water pump leak, I had to grind down one of the timing cover bolt heads to fit the short pump on it, I restarted and it's flinging oil, could the seal on the crank be shot?, I've had the motor sitting since august last year.

Wash down that area, and restart it to double check. Yes, you could need a new seal.

also the oil pan front seal...

they could have made the mistake of putting the skinny seal in and it willl not seal.. u can replace that or put some rtv on finger and squeeze it in to see if thats the problem... then pull the pan and replace the seals..
