oil overfill

2001 Miata - Neighbor's car

He added too much oil :nono: - car atarted and then after a few seconds shut off

Drained oil, replaced with correct amount

Car will turn over, but will not start

Checked plugs and found we're getting no spark

Im guessing it's some security measure to keep from catastrophic failure.

Any ideas?

I would remove all the plugs and spinn it over real good and see what is in the cylinders. It probably got into the breather and intake also. JMO
