oil pans
Hello.
Been lookin for an oil pan. I was checkin out some of the chrome, stock pans on ebay. Are they worth a crap? I mean 25-40 bucks seems kinda low priced. I heard some were cheapies, but I also heard some were a little stronger. Any Ideas? HG |

Yeah, be carefull on what you buy. I bought a set of Hooker Hugger headers on e-bay. The guy has a speed shop and always has a set on e-bay for sale. So i thought i couldn't go wrong. Bought it. When it arrived, turned out they were factory seconds from Hooker. The chrome wasn't plated thick enough at some areas and flaking in others. On the picture it looked good, and they were brand new! but......i didn't know the rest of the story.
Make sure you know what your buying before you make a purchase. |

My Milodon 6 quart factory replacement pan for my 400 was twice as thick as the factory pan and came anodized gold, like crshrmn3
I also should have painted it. It seems to rust awfully fast. Fit was perfect and the best part was I got it for $150 CDN, quality has never been so cheap. I highly recommend their oil pans Hemmie.

I'd stay away from going the absolutely cheap route. There's so much junk on Ebay right now you never know what you're getting. There are deals to be found, but like my dad says, do it once, do it right. Nothings sucks more than a leak especially when there's little or no room to fix it once the motor is in the car. Scoggin-Dickney has some good deals right now. A stock replacement from Milodon is something like $80.
