Oil Pressure Line?

I have a 1980 GMC 454 block and I am trying to find out where to run the oil pressure gauge line? The Manuel shows a hole right above where the oil filter goes as the oil temperature sensor. Can I just pick up a fitting and run my oil pressure line to it?

Yes you can but I prefer to run my oil line from the front plug near the front freeze plug on the driver side. This will give you a better indication of oil pressure @ the front main beaing.
