Oil pressure sending unit locations.

Working on a project: Chopped '30 Ford tudor with 283 Chev. I need to know where to put the oil pressure sending unit. The motor is post 1957 but still with the oil filter that goes into a canister housing, not the spin on filter although it has been converted to spin on. Guessing it is an early 60's motor.

The early blocks have a screw plug toward the right (passenger) side of the block just behind the coolant pump location. This is the end of the internal oil line. It is a good place to monitor oil pressure as it is the last place that pressures up when starting the engine and the first place where a pressure loss shows if a failure to maintain pressure occurs. The second best place is the back of the block on the left (drivers) side where the passage connecting the oil filter to the main oil galley is located. This is pretty early but after the filter is will show pressure very soon after startup but is slower to respond to pressure loss after that point that is inside the functional parts of the engine like main, rod and cam bearings.

There are also some passages that have plugs above the filter than can be used.
