Oil pump question
I was trying to swap to electronic ignition in my 63 galaxie and while pulling the old dizzy the oil pump shaft was stuck so when I pulled the clip fell off. I raised the motor some got the clip and was wondering if I need the clip on the oil pump shaft? And should I replace the gasket? The tranny is barely hitting the firewall and I was unable to get the pan off.
