oil pump screen install

How do I install an oil pump screen/pickup? its for a '79 350sbc.

I got the tool at the auto store, but I can't figure out how to use it, there's not instructions. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

If you use a tack weld, be sure to remove the pump cover from the pump when welding on it.

Jegs sells a sheet metal device that secures the pump pickup without having to weld on it.

Part #555-23620 $8.99

I have never liked welding on the pump.
