oil pump shaft 350
hi i just rebuilt my sbc and have the long block back from the machine shop and am putting a new oil pump on it. it is just a standard one i got at o'reillys. the oil pump shaft they had new in stock actually looked skinnier than the one i already had so i thought id reuse the one that was in it originally. it looked a little knicked on the sides but is straight. is this a good idea or should i hold up and get a new one?

The pump shaft they had was probably an aftermkt replacement. These are actually a 400 sbc shaft. Sold as aftermkt replacement for all sbc engines.
Either of the shafts, if in good shape, will work.
