oil smell

This only happens when I'm on the expressway. I have a 69 chevelle 305,th400 and 3.73 gears. I'm going about 30-40mph, enough to smell the oil threw the vents. I inspected the engine when i got home, no oil on the intake heads etc, everything looks dry.

What a poser.

Damifino

Not using any oil?

Mechanical gage in dash / aftermarket?

No oil leaks on back of motor around Dist , oil sending unit,
Back of intake?

Loosing any ATF?

I have seen a mad modulator valve push ATF into the intake causing it to smoke out the passenger side bank.

How long has this drive train been installed? is it new?

Could it just be the new smell breaking it in ?

You know like if you get some oil on the Exhaust pipes & it takes a while to burn off.

Other than that I a stumped & the other 64 people that have looked but not posted must feel the same way. I guess

Look it over again & see if you find a leak or a PVC hose off . . . something.

Or buy lots of air fresheners.
